8’ x 10’ Chicken Coop Plans
Designed by us. Built by us. Used every single day.

This is our actual coop.
I designed it to be simple, functional, and easy to manage for everyday chicken keeping. We live in Wisconsin, so it’s built to handle harsh winters, but the design works beautifully in any climate.
My husband brought my vision to life. He built it, I tested it, and he turned the entire structure into detailed, easy-to-follow digital plans so you can confidently build it too.

Estimated Cost to Build
The estimated cost to build this coop is approximately $2,200. This includes all materials used for the structure itself, based on our build. This does not include tools, foundation/ground prep, or optional customizations.
Costs can vary depending on your location, material choices, and current lumber prices. You may be able to build for less (or more) depending on what you already have on hand and the finishes you choose.
Built for Real Life
We built this coop to last. It’s sturdy, functional, and designed to make daily chicken care easier. Instead of rebuilding or constantly fixing a cheaper setup, this is a one-time investment in a coop that works long-term.
We currently house 29 birds in this coop. It’s sturdy. It’s practical. It works. This design supports everyday chicken keeping without overcomplicating your life.
